Cheryl Pollack-Neuser is the Director of Educator and School Excellence, Title I and Title II at the Arizona Department of Education, and works closely with Local Education Agency’s (LEA’s) across the state to ensure their Title I and Title II programs are doing their best to support and advance Arizona’s academically at-risk youth. Her belief is that education empowers children and adults alike to become active participants in the transformation of their societies. She believes that Title I and Title II has the power to level the playing field for at-risk students or marginalized populations and provide them equal educational opportunities in a safe and welcoming school environment. She has worked in education for a little over fifteen years, first as a teacher in elementary and junior high school and then as an Assistant Principal. Prior to her work in education, Cheryl worked for eleven years in human resources. A significant portion of those years were spent as a consultant working with and recruiting from some of the top universities and business schools in the country. Cheryl holds two bachelor’s degrees, one in English and one in Elementary Education. She also holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership, from Arizona State University.
