Rebecca Astorga
Rebecca Astorga is a School Safety and Social Wellness Specialist, in the Division of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at the Arizona Department of Education. During her 6 years at the agency, she’s worked in various roles including administration of the Character Education Matching Grant, training coordinator for the School Safety Program, her current role as grant manager for Project AWARE, Advancing Wellness and Resiliency in Education, and as the chair of the Social Wellness Committee. In her early career, Rebecca completed the 6-9 Montessori Directress Training with CMTE/NY and enjoyed 9 years fostering the whole child in a supportive roll within the Phoenix Elementary School District. It was during those years that she gained a deep appreciation for fostering the whole child through a peaceful, inclusive, and supportive environment. As a Certified Health Education Specialist with a BS in Public Health, Rebecca is passionate about the social and emotional well-being of both students and adults!
