Strozier Tonya
Tonya Strozier is the proud principal of Holladay Magnet Elementary School from Tucson Unified School District in Tucson, Arizona. Since 2015, her work transitioned the school to its B rating from the Arizona Department of Education in 2019. Tonya is a product of Tucson Unified School District. She attended Holladay Elementary School and graduated from Cholla High School. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Family Studies from the University of Arizona. Tonya holds a Master of Education, with a Reading Specialist endorsement, from Northern Arizona University. Her education endeavors continue with doctoral coursework at Grand Canyon University. As a former principal of an online school, her leadership and expertise benefit Holladay in the current COVID-19 education climate. Tonya’s classroom teaching experiences influence her triangulated approach to instruction, assessments, and interventions. She has a hands-on approach to professional development, collaborative teacher teams (professional learning communities), and disaggregating data. Her implementation of school-wide protocols ensures a physical and emotionally safe environment. She utilizes research-based programs to help cultivate student leadership and promote citizenship. Tonya’s work with equity and diversity contribute to the school’s ethos. Tonya is also an entrepreneur with her passion for education through CIA, Associates, LLC. Most importantly, she is the proud mother of six beautiful children and grandmother to one lively granddaughter.
